Hanoi (VNA) – Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali onOctober 15 sent a letter of sympathy to Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh over serious human and property losses caused by recentdevastating flooding and landslides.

Northernmountainous provinces and part of the central region have been submerged bywidespread floods resulting from torrential rains on October 10 and 11.

Thedeath toll climbed to 72 as of 21:00 pm on October 15, according to the CentralSteering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.

Thirtyothers are still unaccounted for while 33 are injured.-VNA
