The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (seventh tenure) opened its seventh plenum in Hanoi on January 13.

President of the VFF Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the meeting aims to review front work in 2013 and discuss orientations for 2014.

It is also in preparation for the VFF’s eighth congress, Nhan added.

He asked delegates to contribute their opinions on renovating contents and modes of the front’s activities.

The VFF will focus on bettering its role of imparting the people’s aspirations and opinions to the Party and local authorities, he added.

Regarding the renovation of the front’s operation modes, Nhan stressed the need to promote the combined strength of means of communications, set up a system to collect the opinions of people at home and abroad on the situation of the country and localities, and implement new measures to promote the role of religions and ethnic groups.-VNA
