The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and its member bodies will encourage public participation in emulation campaigns and maximise all resources for national industrialisation and modernisation from now until the end of the year.

It was set out at the 11 th conference of the Presidium of the VFF Central Committee in Hanoi on July 4 to review its achievements and set tasks for the remaining months of 2013.

From now until the end of the year they will uphold the power of great national unity and citizens’ right to mastery by encouraging them to build the Communist Party and State of Vietnam.

The VFF, whose role and position is important both in the political system and to the great national unity, will conduct social supervision and criticism while expanding people-to-people exchanges and overhauling its operations.

According to Vice President cum General Secretary of the VFF Central Committee Vu Trong Kim, VFF member agencies paid attention to renewing their operations, especially at the grassroots level in the first half of this year.

The VFF’s activities to deal with issues of public concern have helped strengthen the great national unity. Meanwhile, its Party and administration building are improving, especially the collection of public feedback on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution and the draft Law on Land.

Participants mulled over the enforcement of the amended Law on the VFF.

They also voiced their opinions on preparations for the Congresses of the VFF at the communal, district and provincial levels which are scheduled to conclude before March, May and July next year respectively.

The eighth National Congress of the VFF is scheduled for September 2014.-VNA
