Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan held separate working sessions with leaders of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), Masdar Clean Energy and Mubadala Investment Company, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on May 3 and 4 during her trip to the country.

Abu Dhabi (VNA) – Vice PresidentVo Thi Anh Xuan held separate working sessions with leaders of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), MasdarClean Energy and MubadalaInvestment Company, and representatives of the  Vietnamese community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on May 3 and 4 during her trip to the country.

Meeting with AGDA leaders, Xuan hailed the important role of AGDA in research and training of diplomats and Governmentleaders of the UAE. 

She affirmed Vietnam’s consistent diplomatic policyof independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development,mutilateralisation and diversification of external relations; being a friend, atrustworthy partner and an active and responsible member of the internationalcommunity.

Both sides agreed to promote cooperation between AGDAand Vietnam's DiplomaticAcademy and research institutes, build specific cooperation programmesin personnel training, sharing of research outcomes and assessments on the world and regional situation,and co-organise conferences and seminars on areas of mutual interest.

VisitingMasdar Clean Energy and Mubadala - the leading energy corporations of the UAE, Xuanhailed their pioneering role in developing clean and renewable energy projectsin the UAE and the region. She also introduced incentives provided by theVietnamese Government to attract foreign investment, especially in sustainablegreen development.

Sheaffirmed that Vietnam and the UAE hold great potential of cooperation in thisfield and wished that the two corporations would consider investing in energyprojects in Vietnam.

Leadersof Masdar Clean Energy and Mubadala agreed with Vice President Xuan’s cooperationproposals and affirmed their wish to meet Vietnamese partners to discuss specific cooperation opportunities in priority areas such as clean and renewable energy.

Meeting staff of Vietnamese representative agencies and representatives from the Vietnamese community in thecountry, Xuan affirmed the Vietnamese Party and State’s policyof paying special attention to the overseas Vietnamese (OV) community and askedthe Vietnamese Embassy and the CommunityLiaison Board in the UAE to play a better role in connecting and helpingOVs settle down lives, holding more community activities to preserve thecultural identity of the Vietnamese people.

The Vice President took note of recommendations made by the OV community to strengthen the Vietnam-UAE ties and develop the Vietnamese community in the Middle East country./.

NA Standing Committee reviews draft Law on Urban Development

Speaking at the session, NA President Tran Thanh Man noted that the draft Law on Urban Development was initially designed for Ho Chi Minh City before its scope was expanded to other cities and additional provisions were incorporated. Given the tight timeframe and substantial workload, the NA will make its utmost effort to consider and adopt the contents as scheduled.

People-to-people diplomacy deepens Vietnam-India ties

Building on this foundation, the city has strengthened ties with Indian localities. In May, Ho Chi Minh City and Mumbai signed a memorandum of understanding on friendship and cooperation, opening up greater opportunities for collaboration in finance, technology, logistics, urban development, innovation, culture, cinema, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

Top leader attends opening of knowledge update programme for 14th Party Central Committee members

General Secretary and President Lam stressed that the programme is being held in the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, which set out the goals and tasks for the entire tenure. The Party Central Committee has adopted measures to remove bottlenecks and unlock resources. The decisive task now is to ensure effective implementation by turning policies into feasible programmes, coordinated action and concrete results, thereby translating the Party's will into national development and a better life for the people.
