Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan on Jan. 10 hosted a reception for the Administrator of the International Francophone Organisation (OIF), Clement Duhaime in Hanoi .
Speaking at the reception, the Vietnamese Vice President spoke highly of OIF’s activities in Vietnam in recent time, saying that the organisation’s projects are implemented effectively and benefit Vietnam ’s priority fields such as education, language, culture and development.
Doan said OIF has played an active part in most international cooperative fields, ranging from the promotion of peace, crisis resolution to sustainable development, cultural cooperation and environment.
She affirmed Vietnam ’s commitment to support the organisation’s goals, especially in fostering its role and image in the international arena through joining the management and solving of global issues.
On his part, Clement Duhaime highly valued Vietnam ’s participation in OIF, affirming that Vietnam is a friend and active member of the organisation.
He expressed his belief that Vietnam will continue to contribute to the Francophone community’s development, and that the organisation’s member countries will cooperate effectively with each other in the future.
Earlier, the OIF’s leader was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Luong Minh on Jan. 9.
On the occasion, Duhaime announced OIF’s assistance for Vietnam to implement a French training project for the foreign ministry staffs and public servants in the country.
At present, the Francophone community has 75 member and observer countries over the world./.
