Hanoi (VNA) – Viet Nam News – an English-language daily ofVietnam News Agency (VNA) – will co-chair a live webinar themed “Asia:Renewable Energy Continent” on June 15 with the aim to intensify dissemination on Asia’s “green” strategy.

The challenges of climate change and energy security havepropelled Asian nations to increasingly embrace investment in renewable energy.

Advanced technology, investment incentives and readiedcapital have also helped renewable energy become one of the highest growthsectors with increasing deployment by businesses as they pursue the ‘green’strategy.

These issues and more on renewable energy development inAsia will be highlighted at the webinar, which will be co-chaired by Viet NamNews, The Statesman of India and Korea Herald. All of them are members of theAsia News Network (ANN), an alliance of 21 major media agencies in 19 Asian countries.

Dong Thap receives first sarus cranes from Thailand for conservation

The six cranes, including three males and three females, are around seven months old and were bred in captivity at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo. They were flown to Vietnam and, following a mandatory quarantine period at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and now are eligible for relocation to Tram Chim for conservation and growth.

In Vietnam, a large-scale waste-to-energy facility using Japanese technology has been established in the northern province of Bac Ninh. Additionally, a Johkasou system has been installed in Ha Long Bay, the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, through Japanese non-refundable aid and support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), contributing to improved water quality, landscape conservation, and tourism development.
