Vietjet has marked a decade of its successful operation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) with the announcement of a new route to the Northeast Asian country.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietjet has marked a decade of its successful operation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) with the announcement of a new route to the Northeast Asian country.

The new route connecting Vietnam’s coastal city of Nha Trang to the RoK’s fourth-largest city of Daegu is scheduled to commence operation on October 27, 2024, with seven round-trip flights per week, affirming the airline’s largest flight network between Vietnam and the RoK.

The announcement ceremony took place at the Vietnam-RoK Tourism Promotion and Cultural Cooperation Forum in Seoul on July 1 with the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with senior leaders from both nations on the occasion of the Vietnamese PM’s official visit to the RoK.

To commemorate the milestone, Vietjet is offering an anniversary promotion week from July 1 to July 7, 2024, featuring tens of thousands of tickets between Vietnam and the RoK starting as low as 0 VND. The promotional tickets are available at www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air mobile app for flights from August 22, 2024, to May 22, 2025.

In addition to receiving free SkyCare insurance, all SkyJoy’s members booking Vietjet flights during this period will also receive 200 points to accumulate and redeem for gifts and participate in lucky draws as part of the Vietjet SkyJoy loyalty programme.

Since its inaugural flight linking the two capitals - Hanoi and Seoul in July 2014, Vietjet, over the past decade, has continually expanded its flight network, transporting ten million passengers across over 37 regular and charter services between the two countries, and this number continues to grow steadily. The RoK is also Vietnam’s largest foreign investor. As of the end of September, Korean investors operated 10,301 valid projects with combined registered capital of 94.2 billion USD, topping both capital value and number of projects among 154 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Korean enterprises contribute roughly 30% of Vietnam’s total export value.
