Vietnam actively took part in the 312th session of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Governing Body, which was held in Geneva , Switzerland from Nov. 3-18.
As an official member of the body, and ASEAN coordinator and member of the Asia-Pacific group, Vietnam chaired the drafting of proposals on many issues, including regulations on electing the ILO General Director and functions of the ILO General Assembly.
Vietnam also proposed policy linkage and capacity enhancement for partners in their national sustainable jobs programme and technical cooperation, labour management and inspection.
At the session, more than 200 delegates assessed international labour standards, discussed steps for the reform of the General Assembly and other issues relating to ILO activities./.
