At 8 a.m on March 3, the second flight out of three took off from Hanoi for Djerba in Tunisia , about 100 km east of Libya ’s border. The third one is scheduled to leave at the same time one day later.

Earlier, the first flight took off at 22.00 hrs on March 2 and is scheduled to land at the Noi Bai International Airport at about 00:25 am on March 4.

The national flag carrier will also send doctors and increase the amount of medicine on board to care for the evacuees on each flight.

At the same time, Vietnam Airlines has set up special working groups led by its deputy general directors to help Vietnamese workers in neighbouring countries to return home while sending more experienced officials to assist Vietnamese nationals in other Northern African countries.

In the last few days, Vietnam Airlines has sent more flights to Egypt and Tunisia to bring Vietnamese workers home, forcing it to reschedule a number of its services, mostly on Boeing 777.

The HCM City to Incheon route in the Republic of Korea on March 2, 3, and 4 will be replaced by A330 and A321 aircraft and 15 domestic flights, including those on the HCM City-Hanoi, Da Nang, and Vinh routes, will be one hour later than scheduled./.
