Vietnam Airlines on August 4 launched a promotion programme for passengers who travel on the new-generation Boeing 787-9 on flights from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to London, the UK.
Accordingly, from August 18 to September 1, 2015, passengers will have the opportunity to purchase round-trip airfare with preferential prices (excluding taxes and fees) ranging between 7,599,000 VND (350 USD) and 38,499,000 VND (about 1,800 USD).
The promotion will apply to flights departing from September 1-22 this year.
The national flag carrier is conducting flights to the UK five times each week, including three between Hanoi and London and two between Ho Chi Minh City and London.
On August 2, Vietnam Airlines officially received the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the first of its kind in the airliner’s fleet of new-generation airplanes.
The aircraft is the latest version of the Boeing 787 genre that is able to carry more passengers on a longer distance. The advanced technology applied on board helps save 20 percent of the fuel required and reduces 20 percent of emissions compared to contemporary models.-VNA
