Vietnam among top three for adventure

Readers of global travel website TripAdvisor have ranked Vietnam third in their top 10 global adventure destinations.

HCM City (VNA) - Readers of global travel website TripAdvisor have ranked Vietnam third in theirtop 10 global adventure destinations.

Reporting this, the UK’s Daily Star listed three of the most popularactivities for visitors in this country: a half-day Hanoi food tour, a full-dayMekong Delta bike tour from HCM City and an evening Hoi An food tourby bike.

Costa Rica topped the TripAdvisor list and was followed by New Zealand. Vietnamis the only Asian country to make it to the list, which also includes Ireland,Scotland, Australia, Portugal, Mexico, the US, and Iceland. 

US News earlier this month named Vietnam as one of 30 best solo traveldestinations alongside neighbours Singapore and Thailand.

Earlier this year TripAdvisor readers ranked Vietnam as one of the 10 bestplaces to go in the world.

Vietnam welcomed more than 9 millionforeign vacationers in the first seven months of 2018, a year-on-year rise of25.4 percent.

In2018, Vietnam aims to serve 16 million international tourists and 80 milliondomestic holidaymakers.

The tourism sector will promote smarttourism and actively carry out promotion activities in the remaining months ofthe year to attract more tourists in key markets, he said.

In 2017, the country welcomed 13million foreign visitors, up by three million against the previous year.-VNA

Vietnam tourism promoted at Canadian travel, vacation show

Do Ha Thao, Secretary in charge of cultural affairs at the embassy, said that visitors show great interest in the Vietnamese booth, asking for information about tours and promotional programmes. Some of the visitors had previously been to Vietnam and wish to return.

Binh Thuan province remains tourist magnet

In the first three months, the province welcomed 2.6 million visitors, including 152,000 foreigners, up nearly 14% and 17% year-on-year, respectively. Tourism revenue surpassed 7 trillion VND, marking a year-on-year rise of 16%.

Hanoi is popularising its cultural heritage sites, and transforming historical, architectural, religious, and cultural monuments into distinctive tourism products. Featured attractions include the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Co Loa Ancient Citadel, and the Temple of Literature.

Vietnam in’l travel mart 2025 opens in Hanoi
