HCM City (VNA) - Readers of global travel website TripAdvisor have ranked Vietnam third in their top 10 global adventure destinations.
Reporting this, the UK’s Daily Star listed three of the most popular activities for visitors in this country: a half-day Hanoi food tour, a full-day Mekong Delta bike tour from HCM City and an evening Hoi An food tour by bike.
Costa Rica topped the TripAdvisor list and was followed by New Zealand. Vietnam is the only Asian country to make it to the list, which also includes Ireland, Scotland, Australia, Portugal, Mexico, the US, and Iceland.
US News earlier this month named Vietnam as one of 30 best solo travel destinations alongside neighbours Singapore and Thailand.
Earlier this year TripAdvisor readers ranked Vietnam as one of the 10 best places to go in the world.
Vietnam welcomed more than 9 million foreign vacationers in the first seven months of 2018, a year-on-year rise of 25.4 percent.
In 2018, Vietnam aims to serve 16 million international tourists and 80 million domestic holidaymakers.
The tourism sector will promote smart tourism and actively carry out promotion activities in the remaining months of the year to attract more tourists in key markets, he said.
In 2017, the country welcomed 13 million foreign visitors, up by three million against the previous year.-VNA
