A Vietnamese delegation led by Lieutenant General Phuong Minh Hoa, Chief of Vietnam’s Air Defence and Air Force, is attending the ninth ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference (AACC) which takes place in Malaysia ’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur from Sept 10-13.
Themed “Strengthening Security Cooperation of ASEAN Air Forces towards ASEAN Community 2015: Education and Training”, the event aims to reinforce the relations between ASEAN member countries, fostering peace and security in the region and cooperation in fields of education and training between the countries’ air forces.
The participants agreed to establish an exchange programme, allowing young pilots to participate in training courses in other countries in the region.
Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Hoa stressed that the cooperation on education and training plays a core role for a more effective cooperation between regional air forces, contributing to successfully building the ASEAN Community by 2015.
He said Vietnam’s Air Defence and Air Force is willing to work with other regional air forces to strengthen ties in education and training, information and experiences sharing on flight safety, search and rescue activities to protect the region’s peace, stability and development.-VNA
