A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) took part in the 17 th Meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Standing Committee in Baku , Azerbaijan on June 22-23.
The Vietnamese delegation was headed by Vuong Thua Phong, Deputy Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.
The meeting discussed the recent operations of ICAPP and heard the New Azerbaijan Party’s (YAP) report on preparations for the 7 th plenary session of the ICAPP to be held in Baku this November.
Regarding the ICAPP’s future direction, the delegates agreed to increase the number of ICAPP Standing Committee members, building the organisation’s new operational mechanisms, and strengthen cooperation in promoting regional peace, security and conciliation.
During his stay in Baku, the head of the CPV delegation worked with the Vice Chairperson of the Azerbaijan Parliament and the YAP leaders on measures to boost ties between the two Parties and States.-VNA
