Vietnam, Australia cooperate in drug crime prevention

The Police General Department under the Ministry of Public Secury and the Australian Federal Police liaison office in Ho Chi Minh City have jointly held a training course on drug crime prevention for police forces in southern provinces.

Through the Oct. 26-Nov. 6 course, Vietnam’s drug prevention agencies wished to boost cooperation with the Australian side in preventing trans-national drug crime and improving the professional skills of the Vietnamese police.

Vietnamese officers were trained by Australia’s leading drug interdiction experts in methods to effectively deploy resources to address the causes of such crimes as well as ways to identify and initiate legal proceedings against people charged with criminal acts./.
