Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien made a working to visit to Belgium to speed up the implementation of Vietnam and Wallonia-Brussels projects in the fields of family doctor and medication management.

The visit, which took place on October 13-16, was made at the invitation of the region’s Governor Rudy Demottee.

During her working visit, Minister Tien met with Belgium Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health Laurette Onkelinx, discussing ways to promote cooperation in the fields of family doctor, medication management including the rational use of medicines.

All people health insurance policy, better access to health services for the old, and handicapped people, and medical training were also discussed at their meeting in Brussels .

During her time in Belgium, Minister Tien also had a working session with the EU Cooperation and Development Agency. On this occasion, the agency announced that it would provide a non-refundable aid worth 114 million EUR (154 million USD) for Vietnam ’s health sector for 2014-2017period.-VNA
