A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia headed by Ambassador Bui Dinh Dinh paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation , from Sept. 26-29.
The visit was made at the invitation of Tatarstan President Rustan Minnikhanov and aimed at promoting understanding and direct cooperation between Vietnam and Russia .
During the Sept. 29 meeting, Ambassador Dinh informed President Minnikhanov of Vietnam ’s socio-economic development, potentials and strengths. He said Vietnamese businesses were willing to cooperate with partners from Russia and Tatarstan.
For his part, President Minnikhanov said Tatarstan wishes to uphold and strengthen political, economic and cultural ties with Vietnam .
Host and guest stressed on the need to increase regular exchanges of information and business delegations to boost research, and seek investment opportunities in order to raise two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia in general and with Tatarstan in particular.
He pledged to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and run business in his country, especially in areas of Vietnam ’s strength such as light industry and commodity production, in accordance with the country’s law.
President Minnikhanov extended his hopes that the bilateral ties would continue to prosper both in military and civil areas.
Regarding education, the President said a total of 70 Vietnamese students are studying in the Tatarstan capital city of Kazan , wishing the figure would increase ten times in the future.
Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Dinh held talks with Tatarstan’s governmental officials and met with the Vietnamese community in Kazan city./.
