The Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty on November 26 held talks with his Bulgarian counterpart, General Simeon Hristov Simeonov, aiming to strengthen defence ties between the two countries.
The talks were held after a welcoming ceremony for Simeonov, who is on his official visit to Vietnam from November 25-30 at Ty’s invitation.
During the talks, the two sides briefed each other on the current situations of their respective countries and discussed issues of mutual concern.
Ty highly valued the contributions that Simeonov has made to the traditional friendship between the two armies and peoples.
The two sides agreed that in the future, they will focus their cooperation on personnel training, military technologies and sharing of experiences regarding peace-keeping activities of the United Nations.
The same day, General Simeon Hristov Simeonov paid a courtesy call to Minister of Defence, General Phung Quang Thanh.-VNA
