Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Cambodian counterpart Samdech Techo Hun Sen agreed to conduct measures to accelerate the signing of a Vietnam – Cambodia border trade agreement.

The consensus was reached at their bilateral meeting in Bali, Indonesia on October 12, on the fringes of the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering (ALG) and the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).

The government leaders consented to boost cooperation between the two nations, particularly in economy and trade. PM Hun Sen said his government will continue offering incentives for Vietnamese investors.

PM Phuc thanked his Cambodian counterpart for his attendance at the State funeral for President Tran Dai Quang, saying it reflects close friendship between the two nations.

At the meeting, PM Phuc thanked his counterpart’s close assistance toward creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese-Cambodians to secure legal status and integrate into the local society.

Concerning the relocation of Vietnamese-Cambodians’ floating houses in Kampong Chhnang province’s Tonle Sap area, PM Hun Sen has directed the governor of the province to ensure suitable duration for the process, and in the long term, arrange a resettlement area for the community with necessary infrastructure like schools, hospitals and power and water facilities.-VNA
