– The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association hasheld a lot of activities in 2017 to contribute to tightening the friendship andsolidarity between the two nations.

In the year, the association organised free health check-upsand treatment for people in Cambodia’s Svay Rieng province, and granted 1,000gifts including medicine and medical equipment to locals, heard theassociation’s conference to review its operation in 2017 and put forward 2018tasks.

The association’s local chapters also held numerousactivities such as helping build houses, presenting scholarships to students,and providing medicine for people in Cambodia’s border provinces.

Speaking at the event, Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam PrakNguon Hong affirmed that the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association’sactivities have helped nurture the friendship and solidarity between the twocountries’ people.

On this occasion, the ambassador granted Orders of the RoyalCambodia and the Cambodian Prime Minister to the association and itsoutstanding members.-VNA

Thai Binh aims to eradicate substandard housing ahead of schedule

Thai Binh province has identified 2,106 eligible households—1,164 requiring new homes and 942 needing home repairs. Each new house receives 100 million VND in aid, while 50 million VND is provided for each repaired home. The total budget for the 2024-2025 period is 163.5 billion VND (6.4 million USD).

Vietnamese students honoured at Asahi scholarship graduation ceremony in Japan

Vietnamese students achieved remarkable successes, excelling in various categories. Seven out of 22 students passed the N1 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test - the highest level - while 16 out of 34 students received the special award. Notably, some Vietnamese students were recognised for outstanding achievements in all three award categories.
