Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the national radio broadcaster, wants to coordinate with the Cambodian Ministry of Information to launch a new channel presented in multiple languages, including Vietnamese, VOV Deputy Director Vu Hai has said.

VOV also wishes to enhance the exchange of radio and television programmes with its Cambodian counterpart the Voice of Koh Santepheap (VOK) and the National Television of Kampuchea (TVK), Hai said at a working session with representatives of the Cambodian ministry in Phnom Penh on March 6.

He underlined that cooperation between VOV and the Cambodian ministry, as well as between other competent agencies of the two countries in information and communications over the years has demonstrated the efficiency of intensifying and expanding information popularisation among Cambodians, for the interests of both sides.

Cambodian Information Minister Khieu Kanharith spoke highly of the valuable support of the Vietnamese Government through VOV in terms of technology, personnel training, and experience sharing, adding that the assistance has created a solid foundation for the Cambodian ministry to develop.

The two sides discussed the plan under which TVK will broadcast matches of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship 2019 in October to which VOV owns the broadcasting rights.

They also agreed to intensify the exchange of some radio and television programmes in the time ahead.

On this occasion, VOV handed over materials and equipment to Cambodia in service of the operation of local radio and television stations. –VNA
