Vietnam, China boost friendship exchanges

A friendship exchange was held in the northern province of Bac Ninh on Jan. 23 to mark the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties (Jan. 18) and the Vietnam-China Friendship Year 2010.

Attending the event were Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and head of the CPVCC’s Commission for External Relations (CER), Nguyen Cong Ngo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Bac Ninh province and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Suoxiang.

Various activities during the exchange helped consolidate and strengthen mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between the CER, Bac Ninh province and the Chinese Embassy in particular and between the two people of the countries in general.

On the occasion, the CER leader presented the badge “For the cause of the Party’s foreign affairs” to Nguyen Cong Ngo and several other provincial officials and saving books to five Vietnamese heroic mothers in the province.

On the same day, a delegation of 100 Chinese students and young businesspeople led by Wang Hong Yan, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee arrived in Ho Chi Minh City to meet the city’s Young Businesspeople Association. The visit is the final leg of their nine-day tour of Vietnam for the 10 th Vietnam-China Youth Friendship Meeting./.
