The Vietnam-China Friendship Youth Wall was inaugurated on the morning of October 20 in Nanning in China ’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
When addressing the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son praised the significance of the Vietnamese-Chinese Youth Festival during Friendship Year 2010 and the 60 th anniversary of both countries establishing diplomatic ties.
The Wall and other activities during the festival were important for educating the younger generations in each country about the traditional friendship between both countries’ communist youth unions and promoting the Vietnamese-Chinese comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, confirmed the Vietnamese diplomat.
For his part, Vice Secretary of the Guangxi Party Committee Chen Ji Wa stressed that the Vietnam-China Friendship Youth Wall with the theme “Youth and Friendship” is a permanent symbol of both countries’ traditional cooperative relationship.
This is an important historical landmark and confirms the role and mission of young people from both countries in promoting the development of Chinese-Vietnamese ties.
Construction of the Wall was started at the Nanning City Sports Park on August 28. More than 5,600 officials as well as youth leaders of Vietnam and China have so far left their hand prints on the wall./.
