These events took place during Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son’s visit to Cuba at the invitation of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

Son held talks with Cuban First Deputy FM Marcelino Medina and met with the Cuban FM, the Head of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee Commission for External Relations, and the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.

The officials have kept each other informed of their countries’ current situations, discussed specific measures to realise common perceptions and reached agreements to deepen bilateral wide-ranging ties.

They agreed to closely coordinate in organising future visits by high-ranking delegations and making practical economic cooperation in the medium and long terms.

Deputy FM Son and Cuban officials exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

They also agreed to enhance coordination and mutual support at international organisations and multilateral forums such as the UN, the World Trade Organisation and the Non Aligned Movement to protect the two countries legitimate interest s and heighten their position on the world stage.-VNA
