Vietnam, Czech Republic celebrate 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Addressing the reception, Ambassador Truong Manh Son underlined the ever-growing diplomatic relations between the two countries in the past 65 years.

He affirmed that Vietnam is willing to strengthen the understanding and mutual trust with the Czech Republic and further deepen the relationship.

The ambassador also announced 2015 as the Year of Vietnamese Culture in the Czech Republic.

He noted that around 60,000 Vietnamese people are residing in the Czech Republic, who observe the laws and well integrate into the host country as well as contributing to the development of Czech society.

On his part, Jan Hamacek, Chairman of the Czech Republic’s Chamber of Deputies, appreciated the Vietnamese people’s integration into Czech society while preserving national identity.

The achievements the two countries have achieved in the past 65 years will lay excellent foundations for a better future of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Hamacek said.

The Czech Republic considers Vietnam one of the 12 most potential markets. Two-way trade between Vietnam and the Czech Republic doubled in the past five years to reach 670 million USD in 2014.-VNA
