Vietnam dominates Jakarta music contest

Students from the Vietnam National Conservatoire won four first prizes, one second prize and two third prizes at a recent International Music Contest in Jakarta , becoming the most successful team.
Students from the Vietnam NationalConservatoire won four first prizes, one second prize and two thirdprizes at a recent International Music Contest in Jakarta , becomingthe most successful team.

Conservatoire Director,Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thanh, said the conservatoire sent 12 students to theevent which was held in the Indonesian capital from August 6-16 withthe participation of 110 contestants from Southeast Asian nations,China and Japan .

Do Hoang Linh Chi bagged the title for pianists under 13 years old,while the remaining three first prize winners were all violinists withHoang Ho Khanh Van topping the under 13 group, Nguyen Thien Minh, the14- to 17-year olds, and Tran Quang Duy, the over-18 group.

Nguyen Linh Uyen took home the second prize for violinists aged 14-17while the third prize for violinists of the same age group went to BuiCam Ly.


Also, Nguyen Luong Minh clinched the third prize for pianists under 13./.
