Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Dang Ngoc Tung on October 28 held talks with Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK), in Hanoi on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam from October 27-30.
Chairman Tung affirmed that the visit would contribute to promoting friendship and cooperative relations between the two trade unions.
He also said that Vietnam ’s trade unions prioritised the protection of workers’s legal interests, including improving negotiation skills in signing collective labour agreements and building healthy labour relations.
On his first visit to Vietnam in the role of GFTUK’s chairman, Hyon Sang Ju said he hoped the close relationship between the two countries that was founded by the late President Ho Chi Minh and chairman Kim Il-sung would be increasingly strengthened and developed.
At the talks, the two sides exchanged information on their socio-economic situations and trade union activities, and discussed the step up of friendly relations between the two trade unions. They also pledged to create favorable conditions for trade unions to promote friendly and cooperative ties./.
