Vietnam earns nearly 3 billion USD from rice exports in H1

Vietnam earned nearly 3 billion USD from exporting 4.68 million tonnes of rice in the first six months of this year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the figure represents a year-on-year increase of over 10% in volume and over 30% in value.

Vietnam harvested 3.48 million ha of rice in the first half of this year, up 0.5% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, Vietnam spent about 670 million USD on importing rice from other countries, mainly from Cambodia and India.
