Vietnam will spare no effort to work with Japan in growing the two countries’ strategic partnership in a sustainable, long-lasting manner for mutual development and prosperity as well as for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the remarks at his reception for new Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada in Hanoi on October 29.

He welcomed the diplomat on assuming his new post in Vietnam while underscoring the similarities in culture, the traditional friendship, potential and advantages possessed by the two countries as supportive elements aiding their mutual development.

PM Dung affirmed that since the two countries lifted their relations to a strategic partnership, their ties in various fields have progressed strongly, generating practical benefits for the two peoples.

He took the occasion to thank Japan for its sizeable ODA provision, asserting that this source of capital has played an active part in Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

Vietnam treasures and will do more to step up their bilateral cooperation, PM Dung confirmed, expressing his hope that the new ambassador will contribute to the process.

Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada assured the host that he will do the best he can to bridge the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in various areas, especially in economics, trade, investment, ODA, education and culture.-VNA
