PM Chinh affirmed that France is one of the important countries in Vietnam's foreign policy with Europe in general and the European Union (EU) in particular, and this visit demonstrates its strong determination in concretising the contents of the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place one day after the VNVC Vaccine JS Company and Sanofi Group exchanged cooperation documents on vaccine production technology transfer under the witness of State President Luong Cuong and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
Giang emphasised that the two countries’ defence cooperation has continued to be strengthened and developed practically and effectively in many fields, in line with the contents agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders and the two defence ministries, as well as the signed cooperation documents, notably in areas such as delegation exchanges, training, United Nations peacekeeping, and defence industry.
The upcoming state visit by French President Emmanuel Macron presents an excellent opportunity for the leaders of both nations to align on concrete next steps for implementing the frameworks outlined in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested Vietnam and France promote collaboration in economy, trade, investment, culture, heritage, architecture, and education and training, while also expanding into new areas.
Representatives of the Vietnamese and French armies will soon sign a letter of trust, which covers various contents directly related to the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien, visiting French Secretary of State for Veterans and Memory Patricia Miralles said at a meeting with provincial leaders on May 5.
