The Vietnamese Government will spare no effort to work together with the German side to develop the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) into a high quality training institute in Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement at a reception for the council of the Ho Chi Minh City-based VGU, which was led by Udo Corts, the former Minister for Science and the Arts of the federal state of Hessen , in Hanoi on July 10.
Showing his delight at the university’s new developments, Deputy PM Nhan said he expects that VGU would help Vietnamese students land jobs at German enterprises operating in Vietnam in addition to its main task of teaching German.
Udo Corts, for his part, expressed his hopes that VGU will be not only a training and research institute but also help further economic cooperation and development between Vietnam and Germany.
He wishes for the Vietnamese Government’s assistance so the university will be able to offer low-cost international-standard training services to Vietnamese students.-VNA
