Vietnam-Germany trade, investment forum held in Leipzig

A Vietnam-Germany Trade and Investment Forum has been held as part of the “Vietnam Days in Leipzig”, highlighting investment potential and opportunities between Sachsen State and Germany in general and Vietnam as well as other countries in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific.

Berlin (VNA) – A Vietnam-Germany Trade andInvestment Forum has been held as part of the “Vietnam Days in Leipzig”,highlighting investment potential and opportunities between Sachsen State and Germanyin general and Vietnam as well as other countries in Southeast Asia and AsiaPacific.

The forum drew Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen MinhVu; Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Le Thanh Liem; DeputyMayor of Leipzig Michael Schimansky; Managing Director of the Leipzig TradeFair Martin Buhl-Wagner, and nearly 200 German enterprises.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Vu highlighted Vietnam’s economicdevelopment in recent years, as well as trade and investment partnershipbetween Vietnam and Germany, affirming that Vietnam is a promising market forforeign investors.

Ambassador Vu also reiterated Vietnam’s commitment tocreating optimal conditions for German investors.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of HCM City People’s Committee LeThanh Liem pledged that the municipal government always offers suitablepolicies and incentives to attract more investments, while strengthening itseconomic connections between local firms and foreign partners, including thosefrom Germany.

Director of the HCM City Investment and Trade PromotionCentre Pham Thiet Hoa said that taking advantages from the city’s currentpreferential policies, German businesses should tap opportunities from newchances to increase business activities in Vietnam.

At the same time, Trade Counselor at the Vietnamese Embassyin Germany Bui Vuong Anh called on German firms to attend the Vietnam FoodExpo2019, while representatives from the Vietnam Airlines and Vietinbank introducedthe tourism, aviation and banking development potentials of Vietnam.

Businesses of both sides also discussed various issues,including those related to administrative procedures for investment, energy,biotechnology for agriculture.

On the framework of the forum, the Vietnam Airlinesshowcased publications featuring the natural landscapes and tourist sites in Vietnam.-VNA

PM asks for enhanced efficiency in managing monetary, fiscal policies
