Vietnam bagged three gold medals at the Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) on May 19.
Thegold medals were won by Nguyen Tien Trung Kien, Nguyen Viet Dung andPhan Duc Nhat Minh from Hanoi University of Natural Sciences’ HighSchool for Gifted Students and Vietnam National University.
The Vietnamese team were also awarded two silver and one bronze medals.
Vietnam,along with the Republic of Korea, ranked third at the APIO,following China and Iran, the best result the Vietnamese team hasachieved since it first attended the event in 2013.
This year’scompetition drew the participation of students from 27 countries andterritories. The contest was held online, with students competing withintheir own countries or areas.
