A gathering of Lao military alumni in Vietnam took place in the Lao capital city of Vientiane on Aug. 3.
Jointly organised by the Vietnam Defence Attaché’s Office and the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos , the event was part of activities to mark the 35 th anniversary of the signing of Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the 50 th anniversary of the Vietnam–Laos diplomatic ties.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau highly valued the Lao army’s contributions to maintaining and fostering the close cooperative relationship between the two nations.
Maj. Gen. Kensi Manivong, Deputy Director of the General Politics Department of the Lao People’s Army thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and Government for standing side-by-side with Lao soldiers and people during their struggle for national liberation and training generations of military alumni, helping them fulfill assigned missions during the war.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the Vietnamese lecturers and people, and vowed to do their utmost to enhance friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, armies and people.-VNA
