Vietnam highly values Indonesia’s role in strengthening the regional cooperation and solidarity and the building of an ASEAN Community, as well as its initiative on the six-point principle in the East Sea.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement while receiving Speaker of Indonesia’s House of Representatives Marzuki Alie in Hanoi on September 5.
Applauding the outcome of the talks between Marzuki Alie, who is also President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Dung expressed his belief that Alie’s visit will make practical contributions to boosting friendship and cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefit and peace, stability in the region and all over in the world.
Dung said he hopes both countries will spare no efforts to deepen the bilateral ties, contributing to the development of each country.
He said the two sides should step up the preparation for the coming visit to Indonesia of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, which is expected to lift the relationship to a new height.
For his part, Alie informed Dung that the coming 33rd AIPA meeting will put its focus on the building of three key pillars of the ASEAN Community, including issues related to the East Sea.
The Indonesian leader said he hopes both countries will further strengthen cooperation in areas of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, tourism, security and defence.
He said he believes that the bilateral ties between both countries will further developed, contributing to boosting peace, stability and development in the region and the rest of the world./.VNA
