VinFast, a unit of Vietnam’s Vingroup, introduced its new cars at the Paris Motor Show in France on October 2. It will become the first full-fledged domestic car manufacturer in the country when its first models roll out on the streets in August, 2019.
VinFast invited former Manchester United football star David Beckham to attend the opening of its new cars, the seven-seater SUV and the four-Sedan, at the show.
According to data collected by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, VinFast plans to produce 250,000 cars annually in the next five years or so, equivalent to 92 percent of all the cars sold in Vietnam last year.
