The area of Chua Cau, one of the most iconic attractions in Hoi An, and surrounding streets became an open space for the 16th Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange.
Tea ceremonies, folk games, handicraft displays, street art exchanges and martial arts performances attracted a large number of visitors.
Other attractive activities included a wedding between a local princess and a Japanese merchant at the port of Hoi An in early 17th century, which was enacted by local residents.
As one of the venues for starting trade relations between Japan and Vietnam more than 400 years ago, the ancient town of Hoi An now remains a symbol of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. /.
