Tokyo (VNA) – The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) organised a dialogue on economic cooperation between Vietnamese localities and relevant agencies and businesses of Japan in Tokyo on November 8.
The event saw the participation of secretary general of the Mekong-Japan cooperation committee and head of the JCCI’s International Division Kazuto Sasaki, and representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japanese firms and Vietnam’s Bac Lieu, Kon Tum and Yen Bai provinces.
Speaking at the dialogue, Sasaki said Japanese enterprises have a great interest in Vietnam, adding over the past years, the Mekong-Japan cooperation committee and the JCCI have organised various delegation exchanges and workshop on Vietnam’s investment environment.
He expressed belief in the potential for cooperation and development of Vietnamese localities.
Nguyen Hoang Long, head of the department of external relations under the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the strong development of collaboration between Vietnamese and Japanese localities, which has become a pillar of the Vietnam-Japan strategic cooperation, especially in trade, investment, agriculture and human resources development.
Officials from Bac Lieu, Kon Tum and Yen Bai provinces representing the South Western, Central Highlands and North Western regions of Vietnam briefed the dialogue on advantages of their localities, and noted hope for more Japanese investments./.
