Leading Vietnamese and Japanese experts and scientists shared knowledge and experience in medical research, biology and technology at a symposium held at Hanoi Medical University on November 24.
Hanoi (VNA) – Leading Vietnamese and Japaneseexperts and scientists shared knowledge and experience in medical research,biology and technology at a symposium held at Hanoi Medical University onNovember 24.

Speaking at the event, Professor Dr Ta Thanh Van, Rector ofthe Hanoi Medical University, said Japan has made outstanding performance inmedicine, especially basic and applied science.

Therefore, the symposium offered a chance for Vietnameseexperts to learn from their Japanese colleagues’ experience in this field,particularly in nanotechnology, AI and bio-technology, he said.

Vietnam and Japan marks the 45th anniversary of diplomaticties in 2018. Over the past nearly half century, Japan has supported Vietnam insuch areas as science-technology, agriculture and health care.

In healthcare and medical education, the country haslaunched many official development assistance (ODA) projects aiming to helpVietnam develop preventive medicine and improve capacity for health workers.-VNA

WHO donates 9,000 rabies vaccine doses to Vietnam’s high-risk provinces

The post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) vaccines, valued at 100,000 USD, were delivered to the Centres for Disease Control (CDC) in the two provinces through coordination with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE), the Ministry of Health, and local authorities. The donation was made possible with financial support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
