Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Japan should make meticulous preparations to set up the Vietnam-Japan Science and Technology Centre under Le Quy Don Technical University, which helps enhance teaching and studying quality as well as open up research opportunities for both nations.

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, made the call during a reception for Japanese former Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku in Hanoi on July 20.

Le Quy Don Technical University, one of the key national universities in Vietnam, is under the management of the Defence Ministry.

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan spoke highly of Yoshito Sengoku’s significant contributions to promoting Vietnam-Japan relations and establishing cooperation between Le Quy Don Technical University and Media Gain Co., Ltd in training, scientific research and technology transfer.

The Japanese guest underlined two countries’ collaboration potentials in fields of defence, natural calamity prevention, environmental issue settling as well as high-quality human resource training in electronics and information and technology.

He expressed his hope that the Vietnam-Japan Science and Technology Centre will play a part in deepening the sound friendship between two countries.
