Vietnam joins hands for cleaner world

A national ceremony was held in Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on September 21 to respond to the “Clean up the World” Campaign.
A national ceremony was held in Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on September 21 to respond to the “Clean up the World” Campaign.

Under the theme “Our place … our planet… our responsibility”, the three-day worldwide campaign aims to raise public awareness of and responsibility for environmental protection and encourage people to take part in community activities .

Addressing the event, MoNRE Deputy Minister Bui Cach Tuyen called on individuals, organisations and businesses across the country to join hands in protecting the environment and dealing with climate change impacts for the sustainable national development.

Following the ceremony, delegates cleaned up areas around Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat city.
Earlier, a total of 2,700 trees were planted in the campus of Da Lat University on September 20 in response to the campaign.

Apart from Lam Dong province, many localities across the country also respond to the campaign with a range of activities.

Initiated in 1993 by Australia , the “Clean up the World” Campaign has been launched globally by the United Nations on the third week of every September. This year’s event takes place from September 20 to 22.-VNA
