Vietnamese military personnel has begun undertaking a United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Central Africa Republic.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Major Vu Van Hiep and Captain Hoang Trung Kien were dispatched to join the mission on April 1, as marked by a ceremony in Hanoi.
Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh attended the event.
General Vinh asked three men to show solidarity and determination and adhere to principles as they carry out their tasks.
On behalf of the group, Lieut. Col. Thanh pledged to represent Vietnam in a positive light during its process of integration and development in the eyes of international friends.-VNA
