Hanoi (VNA) –
Vietnam’s permanent mission to the United Nations and other internationalorganisations in Vienne, and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is co-organisinga photo exhibition on drug fight.

TheMarch 2-6 exhibition takes place on the sidelines of the 63rd session of the UN Commission on Narcotics Drug (CND 63).

Inhis remarks, Ambassador Le Dung, head of the Vietnamese permanent mission,pointed out the increase in drug use among young people, as well as its impactson public health and social stability.

Healso highlighted the role of family and community in helping young addicts stopusing drugs and recover their health and spirit.

Theambassador expressed his hope that through photos featuring home detoxificationin such countries as Afghanistan, Cote d’Ivoire, Indonesia and Vietnam, theexhibition will provide insight into the significance of the treatment method.

AmbassadorDarmansjah Djumala, head of the Indonesian permanent mission to the UN andother international organisations in Vienna, and head of the Japanesedelegation to the CND 63 Hideo Eno lauded the initiative of the UNODC and theVietnamese mission to organise the exhibition.

Thisis the third year the Vietnamese mission has joined hands with the UNODC inthis activity./.

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar

On April 8, 28, and May 14, three groups comprising a total of 471 citizens safely returned to Vietnam.
