Vietnamese and Lao Front leaders have agreed on a series of cooperation programmes between the two sides for the time to come.

At their talks in Hanoi on Oct. 25, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Huynh Dam and President of the Lao Front for National Construction Central Committee Phan Douangchit Vongsa agreed to work together closely in organising activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Front Presidents’ Conference in Phnom Penh in 2011.

President Huynh Dam stressed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front attaches importance to increasing cooperation with the Lao Front for National Construction and accelerates the implementation of the two sides’ agreements.

The two sides need to promote the exchange of delegations to study and learn about activities and forms of cooperation between the two countries’ front chapters, he added.

Phan Douangchit Vongsa expressed his pleasure to pay his first working visit to Vietnam in capacity of the President of the Lao Front for National Construction Central Committee.

He said he believed that his current visit would make a contribution to enhancing cooperation between the two fronts as well as promoting the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the new stage.

At the talks, the two officials informed each other of the socio-economic situations in their respective countries as well as activities of the two Fronts./.
