Vietnam, Laos cooperate in front work

Attheir talks in Hanoi on Oct. 25, President of the Vietnam FatherlandFront Central Committee Huynh Dam and President of the Lao Front forNational Construction Central Committee Phan Douangchit Vongsa agreed towork together closely in organising activities to celebrate the 50thanniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the signingof the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and theCambodia-Laos-Vietnam Front Presidents’ Conference in Phnom Penh in2011.

President Huynh Dam stressed that the VietnamFatherland Front attaches importance to increasing cooperation with theLao Front for National Construction and accelerates the implementationof the two sides’ agreements.

The two sides need to promote theexchange of delegations to study and learn about activities and forms ofcooperation between the two countries’ front chapters, he added.

PhanDouangchit Vongsa expressed his pleasure to pay his first working visitto Vietnam in capacity of the President of the Lao Front forNational Construction Central Committee.

He said he believedthat his current visit would make a contribution to enhancingcooperation between the two fronts as well as promoting the Vietnam-Laosspecial solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the newstage.

At the talks, the two officials informedeach other of the socio-economic situations in their respectivecountries as well as activities of the two Fronts./.

Hai Phong, Lao localities deepen cooperative ties

Hai Phong has already established friendship and cooperation agreements with the Lao provinces of Vientiane and Oudomxay, which cover Party and administration building, education - training, healthcare, tourism, investment, and trade. All pairs of border provinces have signed cooperation agreements or memoranda of understanding, many of which have been effectively implemented. Exchanges and meetings between local justice departments and civil judgment enforcement agencies have also been increasingly promoted, he said.
