The embassies of Vietnam and Laos in China held a friendship exchange in Beijing on September 8 to celebrate the 50 th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 35 years of the signing the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
Speaking at the exchange, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Van Tho highlighted the development of the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in recent time.
Tho stressed that Vietnam and Laos need to further strengthen and deepen the relations in the future.
The two countries’ ambassadors, Nguyen Van Tho and Somdy Boomkham, affirmed the traditional relations established by late President Ho Chi Minh and late President Kaysone Phomvihane have become a model of loyal, pure, and long-lasting relationship and valuable asset for generations of both countries.
The two officials agreed that the exchange provided a good chance for both sides to review the traditional relationship and strengthen mutual understanding between the two embassies’ staff and the two countries’ people.
Over the years, the two embassies in China have often organised many exchanges and joint activities, especially during major festivals of the two nations.-VNA
