Vietnam-Laos security forces urged to step up ties

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong has said the security forces of Vietnam and Laos should enhance their mutual assistance and work more closely with each other.

The Vietnamese Party leader also asked the two sides to effectivelyimplement signed agreements during his meeting with a delegation fromthe Lao Ministry of Public Security, led by Minister ThongbanhSengaphone, in Hanoi on December 27.

The Partychief hailed the visit by the delegation and congratulated them on theachievements made by the Lao people in all areas over recent years.

He expressed his pleasure at the development of the specialrelationship between Vietnam and Laos, which he added, sawimportant contributions by the security forces of the two countries.

Minister Thongbanh Sengaphone congratulated Vietnam on itsremarkable achievements in internal and external relations and thankedVietnam for its assistance and support over the years.

He informed the host of the Lao situation, the results of cooperationbetween the Lao and Vietnamese Ministries of Public Security and theoutcomes of the talks between the two ministries.

He affirmed to work closely with the Vietnamese side to effectively carry out the signed agreements.-VNA

Party conference spotlights key reforms in inspection, disciplinary work

Resolution 05 introduces a number of breakthrough viewpoints, positioning inspection and supervision as one of the Party’s most critical leadership functions. It is defined as a mechanism for self-correction and self-improvement, a key tool to control power and uphold Party discipline and order, ensuring that the Party’s guidelines are implemented rigorously and effectively in practice.

Vietnam, China strengthen youth exchanges to deepen bilateral ties
