Vietnam and Malaysia agreed to implement a memorandum of understanding on bilateral defence cooperation for peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting between Defence Minister, General Phung Quang Thanh and visiting Malaysian Defence Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on May 13, the two sides also agreed to increase exchanges of military delegations and staff training and share experiences on rescue and issues of mutual interest, contributing to consolidating friendship between the two armed forces and peoples.
Minister Thanh said he believed that the visit to Vietnam by Malaysian defence delegation will help increase mutual understanding and boost relations between the two countries.
Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi thanked the Vietnamese army for their esteem welcome./.
