
Mexico City (VNA) - Mexico treasures ties with Vietnam, Mexican Deputy Foreign MinisterCarlos de Icaza told Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoai Duong at ameeting in Mexican city on November 24.
The two countries are in a favourable stage for boosting bilateral relations inall fields, the Deputy FM said, emphasising that both sides should strengthencoordination in defining and implementing specific and practical cooperationprogrammes and projects.
At the same time, he pledged that Mexico’s Foreign Ministry will create optimalconditions for Ambassador Duong to fulfil his tasks during his term of office inMexico.
For his part,Ambassador Duong said that Vietnamese leaders always pay due attention tobolstering traditional friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
He showed his determinationto make contributions to the growth of the Vietnam-Mexico relations, matchingthe common interest of the two sides and for peace, stability and developmentin the Asia-Pacific region.
Vietnam is currentlythe seventh largest trade partner of Mexico in the Asia-Pacific region, whileMexico is Vietnam’s second biggest trade partner in the Latin America.
Mexico’s statistics showed that two-way trade in the first eight months of thisyear hit 3.12 billion USD.-VNA
