A delegation from the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Parliamentary Group (VMFPG) paid a working visit to Mongolia from August 16-21.
The visit, headed by Luong Phan Cu, vice chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Social Affairs, was made at the invitation of the Mongolia-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group (MVFPG).
The delegation held talks with the Vice Speaker of Mongolian parliament G. Batkhuu, the MVFPG chairperson J. Enkhbayar and the Head of the Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science D. Arvin.
The Mongolian parliament vice speaker G. Batkhuu spoke highly of activities carried out by the two parliamentary groups and informed the upcoming visit by the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament D. Demberel in September. He said regular exchanges between the two legislative bodies have contributed to fostering cooperation between the two nations and peoples.
Meanwhile, the MVFPG chair J. Enkhbayar stressed that Mongolian young members of Parliament are making efforts to fulfill tasks set by Speaker D. Demberel to boost cooperation between the two groups to a new height.
There are a lot of things Mongolia needs to learn from Vietnam , a country with increasing influence in Asia, J. Enkhbayar said, adding that Vientam’s experiences will be very useful for his country’s economic development in the new period.
He also proposed the Vietnamese group help seek trustworthy partners to support Mongolia’s rice import.
The head of the Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science D. Arvin asked Vietnam to share its experiences in adjusting legal documents on heath care, education and social policies, which are urgent issues facing the Mongolian Parliament and her committee.
On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Cu stressed that the visit has contributed to fostering traditional relations and cooperation between the two legislative bodies in particular and the two countries in general, saying Vietnam is willing to share experiences with Mongolia in any areas./.
