Vietnam most favoured by Koreans for summer holidays

Vietnam is the most popular destination among Korean tourists this summer, according to Hana Tour, the largest travel company in the Republic of Korea.

Seoul (VNA) – Vietnamis the most popular destination among Korean tourists this summer, according toHana Tour, the largest travel company in the Republic of Korea.

The company recentlyannounced the results of its analysis on the booking situation for overseastravel departing in July and August, which also indicated that international travel isgradually returning to normal after a long period of stagnation due to the COVID-19pandemic.

According to the data released by Hana Tour on June 12, thepercentage of its customers choosing Vietnam as their preferred vacation spot isthe highest at 19.9%. Coming next is Japan with 18.2%, Europe 17.6%, China 13.3%,and Thailand 6.4%.

The peak period for summervacations for Korean travellers will fall within the last two weeks of July andthe beginning of August, specifically from July 24-August 6, when students in the RoK start their summer break. Hence, thedemand for international travel also enters its peak phase.

Last year, the booking rate for tours to Vietnam by Hana Touraccounted for 26.2%. This means that for every four Koreans who wished totravel abroad in July and August, one person chose Vietnam. Following Vietnamwere Guam 10.9%, Western Europe 9%, the Philippines 8.9%, and Japan 8%./.

Do Ha Thao, Secretary in charge of cultural affairs at the embassy, said that visitors show great interest in the Vietnamese booth, asking for information about tours and promotional programmes. Some of the visitors had previously been to Vietnam and wish to return.

Binh Thuan province remains tourist magnet

In the first three months, the province welcomed 2.6 million visitors, including 152,000 foreigners, up nearly 14% and 17% year-on-year, respectively. Tourism revenue surpassed 7 trillion VND, marking a year-on-year rise of 16%.

Vietnam in’l travel mart 2025 opens in Hanoi
