Vietnam News Agency helps AO victims
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Vietnam Association for Victims of
Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA) on May 20 signed an agreement on
communication cooperation from 2013-2016.

Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA) on May 20 signed an agreement on
communication cooperation from 2013-2016, marking a new phase in the
relationship towards the common goal of easing Vietnamese AO/dioxin
victims’ pain.
Accordingly, the agreement aims to enhance public awareness about the AO disaster, call for social resources to take care of AO/dioxin victims and support the victims’ fight for justice.
Attending the signing ceremony, Nguyen Thi Binh, former Vice State President and VAVA’s Honorary President, stressed the prolonged and unpredictable impacts of AO/dioxin. She said the cooperation between VNA and VAVA will help Vietnamese and foreigners understand and sympathise with AO victims and their families.
Nguyen Duc Loi, the VNA’s General Director, said that the state news agency has cooperated with various domestic and international organisations to help AO victims fight for justice.
The information published by the organisation helps connect sympathetic people in implementing activities to support the victims nationwide, added Loi.
VNA founded a fund for AO/dioxin victims in September 2006. To date, the fund has donated 4.2 billion VND to nearly 3,100 AO/dioxin victims in all 63 cities and provinces in the country.
The state-run Vietnam News Agency, founded in 1945, has a network of reporters in all cities and provinces in Vietnam and 30 foreign countries in five continents, and publishes more than 40 products.-VNA
